A Program For Life

Posted by madamlight on March 22, 2008

I don’t know if any of you folks reading my blog have ever heard of No. Calories Needed.  This male blogger is also working towards a goal of a healthier life style and weight.

Recently, he began on the program from Paul McKenna based on his book I Can Make You Thin.

I wanted to lead anyone struggling with weight over to his site, because I believe this is a life style we all could live with.  It isn’t a diet – it is a way of life.

I am totally drawn to the idea that you can eat what you want and when you want – but do it consciously.  Slow and alert eating that ends when you feel full.  Not stuffed, but full.

Do to my strange circumstances, I don’t think this is a system for me.  Since I am supposed to eat and for some reason – still never eat enough.

Thursday, I had an extremely long day of work and missed breakfast.  Had a Luna Bar on the drive to work.  Then had a bowl of soup and salad, from Olive Garden, with my employer.  At 5, on my 2 hour drive home, I ate another Luna Bar (because it is all I had).  Then we went for drinks at 8 with friends and we shared an appetizer.

My scale went up 2 pounds.

Yesterday – was Good Friday, and my Catholic roots made it a day of Abstinence and Fasting.  Which in layman’s terms means 2 small meals and 1 regular meal for fasting.  And of course, no meat (warm blooded animals) for the Abstinence.

So, I ate 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter for breakfast and my morning snack.  1 egg salad sandwich for lunch.  No afternoon snack either.  Followed by a dinner of 1 piece of Tilapia (no fried), steamed veggies and 1/2 a baked potato.

My scale went up 2 pounds again.

I am eating today.  PERIOD.  I need a button to remind me.  Or better yet – an electric collar like dogs wear – if I miss a meal it shocks me until I eat!
