How Many Calories Do I Need?

I found this really cool tool on Real Age Today that helps you calculate your needed calories to maintain. Meaning what it takes to keep you where you are at.
I would recommend everyone head over and enter their info and get a glimpse at what it takes to run their body.
Then, don’t think diet think changes -
Make small changes that can be life long changes. I believe Dr. Oz spoke of this before. Cutting back 100 calories a day or walking off 100 calories a day and changing nothing else will put you on the right path.
That small change – would = 700 calories a week eliminated.
After 5 weeks – you would see a 1 pound drop.
In one year – that would mean a 10 1/2 lb drop from your current state.
No, you will not be a size zero next month. What you will have though – is a lasting, healthier new you. No yo-yo stuff.
What if you ate 100 less calories a day and walked off 100 calories a day?
You would then be eliminating 1400 calories a week.
Realizing 1 pound losses every 2 1/2 weeks.
And just under 21 lbs for the year!
I guess what I am trying to say, is by making smaller goals, you will succeed. And as you succeed you will be motivated to move forward.
Forget about – “no more ice cream” and “excercising like a fool”. Make small changes and the rest will move you.
All things in moderation.
